Main Street Downtown Greenfield is dedicated to enhancing the heart of the community through impactful improvement projects. From revitalizing historic buildings to fostering local business growth, the organization works tirelessly to create a vibrant, welcoming downtown. By promoting beautification efforts, supporting infrastructure enhancements, and organizing community-driven initiatives, Main Street Downtown Greenfield continues to strengthen its commitment to making the town a thriving hub for residents and visitors alike.
Patterson Storyboard
Thanks to the $20,000 multicultural grant from T-Mobile, we are proud to honor Greenfield's historic icon, C.R. Patterson and his sons. With the support of Pat Hays, we'll install an 8-foot by 60-foot storyboard on the Washington Street side of 301 Jefferson, showcasing their extraordinary achievements and preserving their legacy for generations to come.
Greenfields Path to Freedom
This project endeavors to illuminate the significant contributions of key individuals and locations in Greenfield that were pivotal in the abolitionist movement and the underground railroad. Our goal is to install historical plaques throughout the downtown and at various locations to narrate these powerful stories and highlight their lasting impact on the community.
Creating An Ambiance Atmosphere In Our Downtown
If awarded the T-Mobile Hometown Grant, we plan to install a state-of-the-art sound system in our downtown area. This system will facilitate music and events, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for our residents and visitors. In conjunction with this, we will also be hanging Edison bulb lights from lamp pot to lamp post, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. With these enhancements, we aim to increase foot traffic to our local businesses and inspire a renewed affection for Greenfield.
